The next generation of food systems resilience solutions must respond to compounding climate, economic and geopolitical pressures. Drawing on practical cases across geographies and value chains, this interactive session examines what works, where challenges remain and what needs to change in how interventions are designed, financed and delivered. Practitioners and negotiators will explore how effective approaches and partnerships can drive food systems transformation at scale, identifying priorities for implementation, joint learning and action beyond COP31.
EVENT OBJECTIVES
- Identify what past and current initiatives reveal about the requirements for the next generation of resilience solutions, including their ability to protect food security and livelihoods when shocks compound.
- Examine how value chain actors and finance can work together with public policy and local institutions, and which alliances can foster transition to more resilient agrifood systems at scale.
- Draw out implications for implementation support and international cooperation, including through the UNFCCC mechanisms, and identify questions for joint learning and action beyond COP31.
KEY OUTCOMES
- Concise synthesis of lessons for future resilience solutions, covering what works, what failed, who benefited and the conditions needed to sustain results.
- A small set of priorities for policy, finance and delivery, grounded in the cases and discussion, for consideration by negotiators and implementation partners.
- Shared learning priorities and opportunities for follow-up collaboration, linking “4p1000” case-study series, with continued evidence generation and policy convening led by ODI, SNV, alongside participating partners beyond COP31.
