CGIAR centers, NARS, and partners have developed extensive expertise in cryopreservation across diverse biological materials, including clonal crops, seeds, aquatic resources, livestock germplasm, and microbial collections. However, collaboration across these fields remains limited. This event will bring together experts from different domains to exchange knowledge, identify shared challenges, and explore opportunities for joint initiatives, research, innovation, and capacity development, strengthening global approaches to the long-term conservation of genetic resources.Â
Â
EVENTÂ OBJECTIVESÂ
1. Identify shared challenges and opportunities for interdisciplinary research, innovation, collaboration, and capacity development.
2. Exploration of opportunities for cross-centre collaboration, joint projects, training activities, and resource sharingÂ
3. Build partnerships and define future actions for joint research initiatives, knowledge sharing, and strengthening cryopreservation capacity across CGIAR, NARS, and partner institutions.Â
KEY OUTCOMESÂ
1. Increased awareness of cryopreservation activities across CGIAR centres and partner organizations.Â
2. Stronger collaboration and partnerships among CGIAR centers, NARS, research institutions, and other stakeholders, leading to potential joint research and capacity-development initiatives.Â
3. Identified priorities and concrete opportunities for continued collaboration.Â
