The world faces increasing agricultural and food security challenges driven by climate change, population growth, and evolving market demands. Strengthening agricultural research and innovation is crucial to building resilient and productive food systems. In response to these global challenges, the Global NARS Consortium (GNC) is being launched to create a collaborative platform that empowers National Agricultural Research Systems (NARS/NARES/NARIS) worldwide.
GNC brings together national research institutions, sub-regional, regional, and international organizations, funding partners, and key stakeholders to facilitate knowledge exchange, joint research programs, policy advocacy, and capacity development. By fostering stronger connections between national, sub-regional, regional and global research communities, GNC will enhance agricultural innovation and ensure that national research systems remain resilient and responsive to emerging challenges.
The launch event will:
- Introduce the GNC vision highlighting its role in transforming agricultural research and innovation.
- Recognize and celebrate founding members and early supporters who have played a key role in shaping the consortium.
- Engage stakeholders in a dynamic discussion on the challenges and opportunities in global agricultural research collaboration.
- Encourage participation through a clear call to action for institutions and stakeholders to join the consortium.
Together, we can make agricultural research and innovation more impactful for a more sustainable and food-secure world.
