The focus will be on land aridification and tools for measuring, monitoring soil health to empower small-scale farmers in adapting their production to become more resilient to aridity. Several case studies (annual crop, agroforestry, pastoralism) will be presented. Representatives from scientific research institutions (“4 per 1000” network promoting soil carbon sequestration to combat climate change, food insecurity, biodiversity erosion and desertification) will talk about issues and progress made in MRV tools and methods available.
