This event marks the launch of the new Genebanks Accelerator and will offer participants the chance to help shape its strategic priorities.
CGIAR genebanks conserve over 700,000 accessions of over 3,000 plant species on behalf of the international community. They give users resources to respond to almost any conceivable challenge related to agriculture. Since 2014, they have distributed over 1 million samples to users around the world.
Through engaging presentations, dynamic panel discussions and audience interaction, the event will consider how more effective collaboration - both within CGIAR and with external partners – can help unlock the full potential of the invaluable crop diversity in the genebanks.
