Context
Policymakers across the globe are grappling with complex and interconnected challenges: food and nutrition security, climate change, biodiversity loss, water resource degradation, sustainable development, gender equity, poverty reduction, and more. Amidst this, CGIAR’s global partnership of 13 world-leading research centers provide solutions to transform food, land, and water systems in a climate crisis to ensure food security in low- and middle-income countries. For over 50 years CGIAR has supported decision-makers at global, regional, national, and local levels by providing timely, policy-relevant, impactful innovations, data, and expertise to ensure food security in target countries. As the largest producer of global public goods in the agri-food development sector, CGIAR research combines trade-offs and synergy analyses with transformative approaches to address challenges in the areas of climate, environment, nutrition, poverty, and gender.
In recognition of the challenges decision-makers are facing, the flagship report: Insight to Impact: A decision-maker’s guide to navigating food system science synthesizes the work of the CGIAR and its partners in a format tailored specifically for policy and decisionmaker use and provides a doorway to CGIAR’s research and scientists.
