PLACA unites 18 agriculture ministries across Latin America and the Caribbean to advance climate action in the agri-food sector through cooperation, capacity building, and shared solutions. Led by Peru (Chair) and Brazil (Co-Chair), and supported by FAO as Secretariat, the Platform reflects renewed regional political commitment to align agricultural priorities with global climate goals.
This high-level panel will highlight how this voluntary regional initiative supports the implementation of global agreements by fostering policy coherence, knowledge exchange, and a common regional stance ahead of COP30.

This event explores strategies to unlock and align finance with the Global Goal on Adaptation, highlighting approaches such as transformational adaptation as a guiding approach to reshape investments, partnerships, and country experiences to drive investment for climate resilience.

This roundtable will explore the vital role of aquatic foods in climate-resilient and low-emission food systems, with a focus on small-scale fisheries and aquaculture. These sectors are essential to food security, livelihoods, and biodiversity, especially in coastal, inland, and Indigenous communities, but often remain overlooked in climate and agricultural policy. The session will highlight practical solutions such as nature-based practices, integrated systems, and guidance tools to support the inclusion of aquatic foods in national and regional climate planning, including nationally determined contributions. It will also explore gaps in investment, data, and policy alignment. Highlighting voices on the ground from cooperatives and Indigenous communities, the roundtable will ensure aquatic food systems are included in the AgriZone and broader COP30 dialogues.
